Saying farewell to Miami. |
Last November I went on a cruise to the Mexican Caribbean. It was a cruise saluting Veterans, very patriotic (I am a Vietnam Era vet). I was on a panel of authors talking to the vets about writing their memoirs.
Speaking about my latest book, WHERE ANGELS FEAR.

As you can see by the photos it wasn't all work and no play! We went to Grand Cayman, Belize, Roatan and Cozumel. Hurricane Ida preceded us, electricity was knocked out in Roatan. However, they make the prettiest cameos out of seashell and we bought them at the factory.
Cozumel was all sunshine and bright colors. And free tequila! Everywhere we went, just barrels of the stuff to taste. If the shopkeepers like you, out comes the tequila! I bought more silver jewelry than I meant to—blame it on the liquor!

Denny Griffin, Jack Miller and I got together later with the travel agent who pulled together the trip and pitched the idea of a mystery cruise: Mystery On the High Seas: A Cruise To Die For.
Details: Nov. 14-21, leaving from Los Angeles. Three days at sea for panels and such. Ports-of-call: Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. No extra charge for the conference, just pay for the berth. Berths start at under $500, gratuities included.

We've lined up several publishers and a Hollywood agent to take pitch sessions. Denny has put together a track about the Vegas mob and true crime. We are also going to be able to sell our books. Since the conference is free, we're inviting the other 3,000 people aboard to participate and buy books.
